La creació de joies artesanes amb bambú i altres pràctiques sostenibles han motivat l’assignació del distintiu

A Joan Rovira Joies sempre hem defensat les pràctiques sostenibles. La natura és la nostra principal font d’inspiració i una manera de retre-li un homenatge és utilitzar materials orgànics i respectuosos amb el medi ambient per crear artesania. Un dels nostres preferits és el bambú, un material que collim en petites quantitats en diferents zones boscoses de la província de Barcelona per transformar en art. Ja siguin peces de joieria artesana o escultures. Aquest procés, juntament amb altres pràctiques sostenibles que duem a terme, ens han permès obtenir el distintiu Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle 2022. Es tracta d’un reconeixement que premia la gestió respectuosa amb el mediambient i l’entorn cultural, econòmic i social de Barcelona.  No cal dir que per a nosaltres és una gran motivació per a seguir millorant dia a dia.

Molt més que una marca de joieria sostenible

Després de mesos d’entrevistes i auditories celebrem que ens hagin atorgat aquest distintiu que acredita que el nostre compromís amb les següents accions sostenibles:

• Energia assequible i no contaminant: Prioritzem l’ús de fonts d’energia verda i més renovables i adoptem mesures d’eficiència energètica en les nostres instal·lacions.
• Producció i consum responsable: Adoptem mesures per minimitzar els residus que generem amb la nostra activitat. A més a més, col·laborem amb iniciatives socials del nostre entorn i apliquem criteris de producció i consum responsable.
• Vida i ecosistemes terrestres: Facilitem informació sobre els recursos naturals del territori.
• Salut i benestar: Apliquem mesures de seguretat i prevenció de riscos.
• Igualtat de gènere: Joan Rovira Joies és un projecte familiar que adopta mesures laborals d’igualtat de gènere.
• Ciutats i comunitats sostenibles: Impulsem la conservació del patrimoni cultural i natural local.
• Pau, justícia i institucions sòlides: Utilitzem indicadors per a mesurar la qualitat, donem a conèixer els nostres compromisos, bones pràctiques i esforços sostenibles. També utilitzem indicadors per a mesurar els nostres progressos sostenibles, promovem sistemes de gestió més responsables i ens preocupem per conèixer i millorar la satisfacció dels nostres clients.
• Treball decent i creixement econòmic: Fomentem la innovació i la millora contínua, protegim i respectem els drets laborals i d’igualtat entre els nostres empleats.

Què és el certificat de Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle?

El certificat de Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle és una iniciativa per mesurar el nivell real de sostenibilitat de les empreses. Aquesta plataforma digital és un projecte del Responsible Tourism Institute, que trasllada al turisme els 17 objectius de desenvolupament sostenible de l’Agenda 2030 de les Nacions Unides.

El passat dimarts 28 de juny vam recollir el certificat del “Compromís  per a la sostenibilitat turística de la Destinació Barcelona Biosphere”. L’ acte  va tenir lloc a la Llotja de Mar de Barcelona i va comptar amb la presència de representants de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona, la Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona i el Comitè Executiu de Turisme de Barcelona.

A nivell local, aquest projecte nascut el 2017 vol reconèixer les entitats que aposten per una gestió respectuosa amb el medi ambient, la cultura i el retorn social i econòmic de la ciutat i les comarques de Barcelona. El distintiu també pretén donar visibilitat a l’esforç empresarial per obtenir una major quota de responsabilitat sostenible.

Des de Joan Rovira Joies aprofitem aquest reconeixement per agrair a totes les persones que contribuïu a que el comerç respectuós amb l’entorn segueixi més viu que mai!

Joan Rovira joies obtains the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle 2022 certification

At Joan Rovira Joies we have always defended sustainable practices. Nature is our main source of inspiration and one way to pay tribute to it is to use organic and environmentally friendly materials to create crafts. One of our favorites is bamboo, a material that we collect in small quantities in different forests of the province of Barcelona to transform it into art. Be it pieces of artisan jewelery or sculptures. This process, together with other sustainable practices that we carry out, have allowed us to obtain the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle 2022 certification. This is a recognition that recognises small businesses  that respect the environment and the cultural, economic and social environment of Barcelona.

Much more than a sustainable jewelry brand

After months of interviews and audits, we celebrate this certification which states our commitment to the following sustainable actions:

• Affordable and non-polluting energy: We prioritize the use of green and more renewable energy sources and adopt energy efficiency measures in our facilities.
• Responsible production and consumption: We adopt measures to minimize the waste we generate with our activity. In addition, we collaborate with social initiatives in our environment and apply responsible production and consumption criteria.
• Terrestrial life and ecosystems: We provide information on the natural resources of the territory.
• Health and well-being: We apply safety and risk prevention measures.
• Gender equality: Joan Rovira Joies is a family project that adopts gender equality labor measures.
• Sustainable cities and communities: We promote the conservation of local cultural and natural heritage.
• Peace, justice and strong institutions: We use indicators to measure quality, publicize our commitments, good practices and sustainable efforts. We also use indicators to measure our sustainable progress, promote more responsible management systems and care about knowing and improving the satisfaction of our customers.
• Decent work and economic growth: We encourage innovation and continuous improvement, protect and respect labor and equality rights among our employees.

What is the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle Certificate?

The Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate is an initiative to measure the real level of sustainability of companies. This digital platform is a project of the Responsible Tourism Institute, which transfers the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 tourism Agenda

Last Tuesday, June 28, we collected the “Commitment for tourism sustainability of the Barcelona Biosphere Destination” certificate. The event took place at the Llotja de Mar in Barcelona. At a local level, this project born in 2017 wants to recognize the entities that are committed to a management practices that respect the environment, culture and the social and economic return of the city and the districts of Barcelona. The certification also aims to give visibility to the business effort to obtain a greater share of sustainable responsibility.
